{Make It Wear It} My First Socks

How many pictures of socks is too many, do you think? 9? Is 9 too many? 🙂

I am SOOOOOO happy with how these turned out! They are so soft and cozy. There are mistakes in each pair to be sure, but it doesn’t dampen my love for them one bit.

I used the basic ribbed pattern from the book Custom Socks by Kate Atherley and went with a cast-on of 64…but I think next time I will CO 60 as these could be a tad tighter. The yarn I used was the BFL sock yarn from Dharma Trading (2 skeins for  $23 and you can make a pair of socks from each skein!) and I dyed it myself (see previous post).

For my first time knitting a sock I would say it wasn’t too hard…a bit fiddly to get used to the small needles and yarn and the heel takes a bit of practice just to visualize what you are trying to do.

These were knit cuff down, but I will do my next pair toe up since several people have mentioned that being an easier way…I am super curious to see the difference.

I don’t really see myself becoming making a ton of socks in the future…but they are so nice to actually wear I will definitely make enough to have in solid wardrobe rotation.

On to the photos!
