{Quilts} A Garden Walk

Spring has officially sprung around here! We are seeing all the baby farm animals out and about around our new neighborhood and it’s just the cutest thing ever! There were even baby goats at the kid’s school this morning for show and tell!

I made this quilt for a PTA fundraiser and wanted it to be an ode to Spring of sorts, so I pulled out all the florals I had in my stash! Awhile back I bought a few liberty sample books from Alice Caroline Supply on Etsy that were on super sale and since the samples were pretty small I wanted to keep them as big as I could in the quilt. I based the final block size around those measurements.

The rectangles are 3.5″ x 6″ finished, pieced in 16 rows and 9 columns, alternating with solid Kona in “Snow”. I quilted along either side of each seam for a simple grid effect. The backing is a Calico print from Joann Fabrics.

Finished dimension 54″ x 56″.
